Carre Otis is known for being an actress and a fashion model. She is American, born and raised in San Francisco. Her birthday is September 28, 1968. She has one older sister, who is a modeling agent and an older brother.
Carre's modeling career started when she was 16 and by the age of 18 and for some time after she was doing photo shoots for prestigious magazines such as ELLE, Cosmopolitan, GQ, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar and others. Unfortunately, by the time she was 18 she was also struggling with a heroin addiction. She was also called to do campaigns for such fashion clothing brands as Guess? (1988) and Calvin Clein (1991). Four years later she was featured in the Pirelli calendar and was one of the models in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition in the year 2000 issue. She appeared in Playboy two times, the first time being in 1990 and the second, ten years later, in 2000.
There was much gossip about her sex scene with Mickey Rourke in the 1990 movie "Wild Orchid", was said not to have been stimulated, but in fact real. She later married the actor in 1992, starting a violent and turbulent marriage. Although Rourke helped her stop abusing heroin for some time, at one point Otis called the authorities on him for alleged spousal abuse. She later dropped the charges. They called it quits in 1998. After her divorce from Rourke, Otis married an environmental scientist (Matthew) in 2005. The couple has a daughter, born in 2006. Otis had been suffering from anorexia for a long time and after managing to get her illness under control she turned to plus-size modeling doing campaigns for fashion groups such as Marina Rinaldi. She was the representative for Breil jewelery in 2005.
