Bonnie Bedelia's skills and talent have made her one of America's most popular and respected actresses on both the large and small screens.
Bedelia's film credits include "Bad Manners" with David Strathairn; "Gloria" with Sharon Stone; Wayne Wang's "Anywhere But Here" with Susan Sarandon; "Sordid Lives", opposite Beau Bridges; "Speechless" opposite Michael Keaton; "Presumed Innocent" opposite Harrison Ford; "Die Hard" and "Die Hard II" opposite Bruce Willis and "Needful Things" with Ed Harris.
She made her big screen film debut in Sydney Pollack's award-winning film "They Shoot Horses Don't They?" with Jane Fonda. That was followed by Lovers and "Other Strangers" with the late "Gig Young" and "The Big Fix" with Richard Dreyfuss. Her starring role in 1983's "Heart Like a Wheel", for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, showcased her talent and won her acclaim from both critics and the public alike. Next, Bedelia appeared opposite Kevin Kline in "Violets Are Blue" and opposite Paul Newman in Roland Joffe's "Fat Man and Little Boy".
Her small screen credits are equally impressive. In 2000 she starred in "Picnic" with Mary Steenburgen and "Flowers for Algernon" with Matthew Modine. She was nominated for a Cable Ace Award for her role in LIFETIME Television's Any Mother's Son and was also an Emmy nominee for her starring role in the Showtime series Fallen Angels.
Television and cable networks have made extensive use of Bedelia's extraordinary talent. For CBS she appeared in two mini series: Dominick Dunne's "A Season in Purgatory" and "The Fire Next Time". On HBO, Bedelia starred in "Judicial Consent" and "Somebody Has to Shoot the Picture", with Roy Scheider. On Showtime, she was seen in The Homecoming, with Anne Bancroft. On NBC, she appeared in Shadow of a Doubt, with Brian Dennehy and Switched at Birth. On ABC, she starred in A Mother's Right: The Elizabeth Morgan Story; When the Time Comes, with the late Brad Davis; Alex: The Life of a Child and she portrayed a murderous black widow in Legacy of Sin for FOX.
Bedelia also has an extensive theater background that includes lead roles in six Broadway plays and several years spent in repertory theater performing everything from Shakespeare and Checkhov to Tennessee Williams and George Bernard Shaw.
