Amy (Elizabeth) Fisher was born and raised in Wantagh, New York. Her birthday is August 21, 1974 and she is known for being a writer, porn star and journalist.
At age 16, while she was a student at Kennedy High School, Fisher met Joey Buttafuoco in his auto body shop. She had wrecked her family's car and went to him to get it fixed, but soon the two ended up engaging in a sexual relationship. After Buttafuoco's refusal to leave his wife Mary Jo, Fisher ended up going to their home and shooting Mary Jo in the back of the head, which left her paralyzed for life. She was arrested and charged with attempted murder, but plead guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. In 1999 she was released after having served seven years, due to a newly formed plea agreement.
After her release she started working for the Long Island Press as a columnist. She won the Media Award from the Society of Professional Journalist in the category Column/News, in 2004. Her first book "If I Knew Then..." was published in the same year. She departed from Long Island Press late 2005. In 2006, she and Mary Jo reunited on TV for "The Insider" and "Entertainment Tonight". "The Lingerie Bowl" in 2006, she and Joey Buttafuoco also reunited for the first time.
Fisher was involved in a sex scandal when her husband Louis Bellera, whom she married in 2003, sold a sex tape of them to "Red Light District Video", a major porn distributor. Although there were troubles with copyright violations Fisher and "Red Light District Video" were able to reach a settlement. She released "Amy Fisher: Totally Nude and Exposed", adult pay-per-view film, in 2009 and now has her own porn web site.
She has a son and a daughter with husband Lou Bellera.
